The DRFA has instituted an Angler of the Year award to honor the memory of Dave who passed away on March 10, 1999 at the age of 46. Dave Bryant was one of the founding members of the club and served as president and as an environmental reporter. He loved fishing for smallmouth bass in the Delaware River and the June smallmouth tournament has been named for him. Honoring his last wishes, his ashes were placed in the Delaware River.       

These standings for the 2003 Angler of the Year Award are current as of the May 17 Dave Bryant Memorial Smallmouth Tournament.
