A catfish tournament for the average person, if you are tired of tournaments with the same people winning year after year then read on.
We have a tournament that lets you fish for 7 months any time and anywhere on the Delaware River.
For an entry fee of just $20 you can fish for 50-tagged Catfish released in the Delaware River somewhere between the Burlington Bristol and Commodore Barry bridges.
Registration is from now until midnight May 15, 2009. The tournament begins on May 16, 2009 and ends on December 16, 2009. No entries accepted after midnight May 15, 2009. To enter, fill out the entry form below.
Here is how the payout works.
Seventy-five percent of all entry fee money will be paid out as prize money for the first two tagged fish caught. Each tag is worth one half of the total prize money. In case of a tie, prize money will be divided equally.
Let us look at an example: If 100 anglers enter the tournament, there would be $1500.00 in available prize money.
Each tagged fish would be worth $750.00; however, the Delaware River Fishermen's Association is guaranteeing a minimum payout of $1000.00 per fish for the first two fish. Of course, the more entries, the higher the payout. When you catch a tagged fish, call the number on your contestant card to report and verify your catch. In order to receive your money, you need to bring your completed contestant card, an ID card and the tag (MUST BE A 2009 PURPLE DRFA TAG) from the fish you caught to our monthly meeting at Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Franklin Mills Mall, Philadelphia, PA. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month. When you present the contestant card and tag you will receive a check immediately, and you will receive another contestant card so you can keep fishing until the tournament ends.
